Happy Atoms

What should we do? Learn about molecules! The Happy Atoms set is great for learning, and is very easy to use. With 50 atoms of 16 different elements in this set, you can build 150 different molecules, for countless hours of fun and learning.

The atoms connect together using magnets, which makes forming molecules very easy. In addition to the atoms within the set, you can download a free app to use in conjunction with this toy to explore molecules and what they are used for. The app walks you through how to assemble the molecules step by step, and explains the type of bonds found within the molecule.

After you build the molecule, you can use the camera on your device to take a picture of it. The app scans it and verifies that it is correctly built. It can read the atomic symbols on the atoms, so it makes it virtually fool proof. The app then takes it a step further and explains the uses of the molecules you form so kids can make the connection between the model and the real world.

Though the recommended age for this set is 10-17, It is easy enough for an 8 or 9 year old to use as well.

This set is a great accompaniment to the books Elements, Molecules, and Reactions by Theodore Gray. These books are colorful and informative, and a great addition to your bookshelf to inspire young minds and future scientists.
